金刚砂,SiC,学名碳化硅。碳化硅硬度仅次于金刚石、碳化硼和立方氮化硼,在无机材料中排行第四。目前已能通过热压烧结法制得高致密度的碳化硅。它具有很高的强度及良好的抗氧化性能,在高温下不变形,可作为高温燃气轮机上的涡轮叶片,也可作耐磨的密封材料,还可作火箭尾喷管的喷嘴及轻质的防弹用品等。晶胞为面心立方结构,每个晶胞含有4个C原子4个Si原子。与金刚石结构类似。纯的是无色晶体。密度3.06~3.20。硬度很大,大约是莫氏9度。一般的是无色粉状颗粒。磨碎以后,可以作研磨粉,可制擦光纸,又可制磨轮和砥石的摩擦表面。由砂和适量的碳放在电炉中加强热制得。
天然金刚砂又名石榴子石,系硅酸盐类矿物。经过水力分选,机械加工,筛选分级等方法制成的研磨材料。生产使用历史悠久,古代我国就有使用金刚砂研磨水晶玻璃,各种玉石的史例。十九世纪四十年代又远销东洋。分粗目,中目,细目三大类。其中粗目为黑红色,中目为淡红色,细目为红白色,各种目数粒度均匀,颗粒形状均一,成棱叫角晶体,有锋利的边缘,磨削力高。供石材类工业研磨大理石及其它软质材料。玻璃类工业研磨玻璃毛边,电视机显像管,光学器械,镜片,棱镜,钟表用玻璃等。金属类工业喷砂,除锈,研磨。印刷工业研磨胶版,以及轻工业加工塑样,皮革,砂纸等用途。
天然金刚砂的磨削力略低于电炉白刚玉,但其任性强,具有介壳状段口之特性,其优点是磨件的光洁度高,砂痕少而浅。磨面细而均匀,可提高产品质量,为本品的独特之处。天然金刚砂的研磨时间短,效益高,价格低廉,可弥补寿命短的不足
棕刚玉以优质铝矾土为原料,无烟煤,铁霄,通过采用在电弧冶炼。炉2200℃以上高温中提纯、除杂、结晶、分选、破碎、磁选、筛分等加工手段制成各种颗粒尺寸的产品。其质地致密、硬度高,粒形成球状,适用于制造陶 瓷、树脂高固结磨具以及研磨、抛光、喷砂、精密铸造等,还可用于制造高级耐火材料 。
棕刚玉具有纯度高,结晶好,流动性强,线膨胀系数低,耐腐蚀的特点。经数十家耐火生产企业实践验证,该产品在应用过程中具有不起爆、不粉化、不开裂的特点。
产品粒度按国际标准以及各国标准生产,可按用户要求粒度进行加工。通用粒度号为 F4~F320,其化学成份视粒度大小而不同。突出的特点是晶体尺寸小耐冲击,因用自磨机 加工破碎,颗粒多为球状颗粒,锐石牌棕刚玉具有纯度高,质地致密,堆积密度大,自锐性强,韧性好,磁性物含量特低的特点,用其制成的磨具磨削锋利,发热率低,磨削比高,且使用时沾附少;制成的烧结磨具具有烧成后颜色深蓝、不起网状裂纹、无锈斑的特点,适用于制造陶瓷、树脂高固结磨具以及研磨、抛光等。
